Jack Pound and Kenny Craddock had worked together on and off for many years in the music business. By chance in May '99 Kenny was working on a Gerry Rafferty album at Eddie Grants' studio in Barbados, when Jack arrived on the island to play music for a masters football tournament One night in a bar at Moonlight Bay, Kenny asked if Jack and his song writing partner Clive Gardner would write lyrics for his own new solo album after their return to the UK. Kenny was home in time to watch the final on TV in Hastings while Jack still in Barbados rejoiced in front of a satellite screen under Caribbean skies. Later Jack came back to England drunk with treble euphoria and told Kenny that he and Clive would only help with his album if Kenny would collaborate with them on a Man U tribute song! A deal was done. So with Jack and Clive's lyrics and music and production courtesy of Kenny and Andy Neate. "Alexander the Great" is soon to be independently released on KCM Records. Jack who sleeps with the CD under his pillow every night, was brought up in Moss Side and went to school Manchester, before running away to sea.... the Red sea of course! Many of his relatives work for the club, and his uncle once ran a lodging house for Man U apprentices. Always good for a gobstopper. Jack would often boast in the playground that his stepfather turned out for the Man U 'A' team. His brother Paul is founder member of the Barbados Man UFC fan club. I | |||||||||||||
